Precious metal clay is a medium where recycled metals such as gold,silver,bronze or copper finnings are suspended in water and a non-toxic binder (clay) the clay is shaped into an article and then fired in a kiln thus burning the water and binder away leaving the sculptured metal which is 99.9% pure.
This process gives the designer the freedom to create feeling and movement in their work that cannot be achieved using traditional jewellery techniques.
Ann loves her garden and is influenced and inspired by the shapes, textures and colours she sees, so much of her work has flowers or leafs in their design.
She finishes all her pieces by hand polishing and burnishing them to give them a wonderful rich organic quality.
