| Last Autumn, with a bit of money to spend and feeling down after the birth of my baby girl because my pre pregnancy clothes would no longer fit, I happened upon a Boden Catalogue. I placed an order on the telephone straight away and the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The package arrived by courier after three working days, they advised four to six, so this was very efficient. The clothing was well wrapped with tissue paper, folded well and didn't need pressing before wear. I tried on the items and was glad I'd ordered a size up from my usual, as everything just fitted. Two long sleeved tops, a sweat shirt, three pullovers a fitted top and a bag. I decided a pair of stretch black cotton bootlegs was too tight together with the fitted top, which didn't look as nice as the photograph portrayed. I parcelled up the items for return, stuck on the free returns label and sent it back by post. No difficulty there. When you have to pay for your own returns after more orders I would think the postage would be quite hefty. For one item I opted for an exchange which came with a discount but no free return label. I was pleased with my purchases until I washed them. I carefully followed the instructions, used a mild detergent and hand washed the pullovers. Much to my dismay, once the items were dry, the pullovers had shrunk to a size too small and the long sleeve T Shirts had become baggy in width and short in length. I tend to blame myself in these situations, but it has put me off purchasing these items again. The sweatshirt washed fine and a needle cord shirt I later ordered for my husband still looks lovely. My advice is don't buy the cotton T shirts, you can get much better quality elsewhere and stay away from woollens unless you're are an expert at washing them. I'm still tempted by some of their other clothes, the summer frocks and linen shirts look really nice. I'm not sure that I can risk the amount of money they're asking, again. |
