For redness: You've all see the green concealer, it comes in a pot, or most commonly in a tube. The key to applying it correctly, is not so you look green. You apply this to the red spots after moisturizer but before anything else. apply it so you can't see the red. It's supposed to cancel out the red. It's going to look a little muddled, but not green. Then you apply your foundation over that.
Undereye circles: Surprisingly, most undereye circles can be covered by foundation. However for darker circles, be careful what you apply. A salmon colored concealer works for most undereye circles that are more blue toned. If you use a yellow concealer on those, you will look green. (Yellow+Blue makes green) Also, when patting on concealer, please be gentle in the eye area. It is very delicate, and by tugging and pulling you will be creating or enhancing expression lines.
Lips: A good idea is to apply some chapstick before your start putting on your makeup, especially if lips are dry.
After foundation, it is a good idea to use pressed or loose powder, to set everything, otherwise it will be gone mid-day. Use a fluffy brush and use circular motions. Don't forget to powder by your jawline to avoid demarcation lines.
Eyeshadow: Don't forget to BLEND! And those sponge tip applicators are the worst for blending, its a good idea to use brushes. I've also seen folks who apply eyeshadow with their fingers, and just blend in circular motions. Personally, I like to use my brushes, but if it works for you, then use what you got!
