Thread: Modeling Agency

Hi

Sorry if I am posting to the wrong forum I am new to this. Has anyone heard of Standout Model management. My daughter who is 14 received a letter confirming that they would like to offer her a place with them, but I would need to pay £125 to cover costs. I had previous registered with Models Direct last March and had to pay money, but my daughter received no job assignment. We don't want to get taken for a ride again.

Not sure if you've had a response on this but to cut a long story short - do NOT pay this company any money.

I work in the fashion industry, but for legal reasons cannot name the companies - but have and still do work with 2 of the biggest fashion agencies in the world and have gotten into model representation, currently looking for models to represent so do have a lot of understanding of the industry.

A reputable fashion agency will NEVER ask you for money, theres nothing more to it. They will never ask you for money upfront, if that agency believes in you enough to sign you they should be confident you will be an investment worth taking time with. That means to put it plainly they will pay for everything that will make you the success they need to get their money back.

Any model I am interested in, all their costs are paid up front by my company, they are asked for nothing but a percentage of their earnings once we find them the relevant work.

I had a feeling they were the same as Models Direct. My daughter has signed up with Star now uk where there are a lot of modeling agencies looking to take on young girls. My daughter has her picture displayed and her profile and applies for jobs, but eveytime a modeling agencies say they are interested they always want money first. I think I will contact some other modeling agencies and send some photos of her, but will take your advice and stay away from any agency that wants payment up front.
