First sold in 1917 and once a feature of the grunge look, Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars (also known simply as Chucks) have moved steadily from subculture to main stream. Comfortable as a day shoe, though incredibly casual they've been dressed up and down and have been seen on everyone from Sienna Miller to Doctor Who.
We're not sure that anyone actually knows how many variations of the shoe exist, a horde of colours and patters, the ability to customise a pair, and different cuts including high top, low, mule and Oxford; however, this hasn't stopped a variety of manufacturers and designers copying the style.
